Professor Tunji Olaopa’s “J. Bayo Adekanye and the Scholarship on Civil-Military Relations” appearing in the online newspaper News Chronicle, July 16, 2023, and The Guardian (Lagos), July 27, 2023, being a review essay on Emeritus Professor J. ‘Bayo Adekanye’s latest book The Comparative Method and Civil-Military Relations, the Nigerian Edition, published by Ibadan University Press (The Publishing House, University of Ibadan), November 2022, is the most recent of such scholarly book review essays on the eminent political scientist’s works. While there may be more in the making, ABATOM Associates has been reminded about the existence of at least three other such scholarly reviews previously done on ‘Bayo Adekanye’s books, including the one done by the preeminent historian (and later Emeritus) Professor J. F. Ade-Ajayi on the author’s first book Nigeria in search of a Stable Civil-Military System over 40 years before (1982).
